Baozhou Sun, Ph.D., MBA,

Baozhou Sun, Ph.D., MBA, Professor of Baylor College of Medicine. He is the Director of Medical Physics in the Department of Radiation Oncology and oversees the clinical practice and new technology implementation in radiotherapy at Baylor. Prior to joining Baylor, Dr. Sun was an Associate Professor and the Chief of Quality Assurance (QA) Services in the Physics Division at Washington University in St. Louis. He also teaches dosimetry students, medical physics and radiation oncology residents.


Dr. Sun is a member of several societies and organizations, such as the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). He chairs a task group in the AAPM to improve the radiotherapy QA program. Dr. Sun is a board-certified medical physicist by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) with extensive experience and expertise in advanced technologies related to cancer treatments.


Dr. Sun has authored 50 peer-reviewed papers published in top journals, more than 60 conference abstracts and presentations, 2 book chapters, and several invited lectures at international conferences. Dr. Sun is passionate in deploying advanced radiotherapy in low and middle-income countries and advancing global health equity and access to high-quality cancer care throughout the world.
