Prime minister Nabbanja popularizes 4-acre model for wealth creation

Prime minister Robinnah Nabbanja at her farm in Kakumiro town council, Kakumiro district while supervising a number of enterprises urged farmers to take up onion farming to improve on their income.


She said that her engagement in this onion farming is aimed at promoting H.E President Museveni's 4 acre model approach to wealth creation and also act as a model for the general public to study new technologies and implement them.


"One of the amazing enterprises is the Onion plantation, With the right variety and proper management, an acre of onions can yield up to 23 tons sold at an average of shs 1,000 per kilogram, this means a farmer can get a gross revenue of up to sh23m per acre a season", said Nabbanja.

This is one example of engaging in farming with 'Ekibalo' as emphasized by President Museveni", stated Nabbanja.


She said that Uganda the “Pearl of Africa,” is endowed with tropical climate, rich soils, 2 seasons per year and well-distributed rainfall, which provide an ideal environment for its agricultural sector.


"It is therefore possible for Ugandans to secure sustainable livelihoods through similar approaches,Let's all embrace the President’s message", said Nabbanja.
